The 19th Annual Komen Detroit Race for the Cure® will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Join the MACPA team as we Race for the Cure®.
Volunteering for the Cure
The MACPA will be celebrating its seventh year sponsoring the Race. As a Stage Sponsor, the Association will prepare the green room for guest speakers who volunteer during the event, facilitate the stage, as well as greet speakers and VIP guests. Prior to the Race, friends of the MACPA will help decorate ribbons that will line the race path.
Saving Lives One Race at a Time
The money raised from the Komen Detroit Race for the Cure® goes to support local breast health education, breast cancer screenings and breast cancer treatment projects, as well as support the Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant Program.
Protection and Prevention
It is important for women to protect themselves against breast and cervical cancer. In 1991 the State of Michigan implemented the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program, offering support for women who do not have access to cancer screening or treatment services.
