As a member of the MACPA you have access to the most recognized healthcare provider in the state, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM), and access to the entire Blues portfolio of products to select benefit options, including health, prescription drug, dental and vision plans. Plus, you get personalized health and wellness resources to help you manage your well-being. Non-members of the Association do not have access to as many benefit options or resources.

BCBSM Products and Plans

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) – Provides the highest level of benefit payment and limits out-of-pocket costs when medical care is provided by a network doctor or hospital.

Consumer-Directed Health Care – BCBSM’s consumer-directed health care plan, FlexibleBluesm offers comprehensive medical plans that can be coupled with a health savings account, a health reimbursement arrangement, or a flexible spending account.

Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) – Blue Care Network offers quality coverage and access to a comprehensive network of highly credentialed, board-certified primary care physicians and specialists.

Wellness Plan Options – These plans reward members for actively pursuing healthier lifestyles.

• Healthy Blue Living HMO – Members who choose to partner with their primary care physician to set and achieve their health goals pay less out-of-pocket when they need medical care, includes health screenings, immunizations, and preventative care.
• Healthy Blue Incentives PPO – Combines BCBSM’s PPO network with effective wellness and care management. Rewards members with lower out-of-pocket costs for actively pursuing healthier lifestyles and for participating in designated wellness and disease management activities.

Individual Coverage Options – My Blue

• Individual Care Blue Plus – Comprehensive medical plan tailored to fit all stages of a member’s life (under the age of 65).
• Young Adult Blue – Basic medical plan for individuals 18-30 years old.
• Flexible Blue – Comprehensive PPO medical plan that may be combined with a health savings account, giving members the freedom to choose how and when they use their savings.
• BCN OneBlue – Comprehensive and cost-effective non-group health care coverage for individuals and families that stresses preventative care and health education.
