TROY, MI—July 23, 2007—The Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA)and Peggy A. Dzierzawski, President and CEO, announced the launch of a full-time presence for the Association in the state capital.

“Due to the increasing complexity and importance of state legislative and regulatory issues—the MBT and CPA license mobility are good examples—I’m delighted to announce the MACPA is establishing a satellite office in Lansing,” wrote Sean Keenan, CPA and MACPA Chair of the Board, in the MACPA publication Leaders’ Edge. “By positioning ourselves in the seat of state government, we’ll create a stronger physical presence amongst lawmakers and regulators.”

The address for the new satellite office of the MACPA will be 120 North Washington Square, Suite 805, Lansing, 48933-1619. It will be the home base for the Associations’ Senior Director of Governmental Relations, John Lindley. The Lansing office can be reached by calling MACPA’s main line at 248.267.3700.

“This new presence underscores the importance we attach to the relationships we’ve built with our legislators and state officials,” said Dzierzawski.  “The MACPA is serious about championing our members’ concerns, inserting their issues directly into the legislative process, and being the voice of the accounting profession.”

The new office will be open on Wednesday, August 1.

The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants is a diversified, professional, member-driven organization serving nearly 17,000 CPAs and affiliated professionals throughout Michigan. Visit MACPA’s web site at www.michcpa.org.
