Michigan Association of CPAs Named to 2006 Association Advance America Honor Roll

TROY, Mich., April 13, 2006 – The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) has been named to the 2006 Associations Advance America Honor Roll, a national awards competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Washington D.C.

The MACPA received the award for its “Financial Affairs at the End of Life” resource booklet. This booklet was developed by MACPA members in partnership with Hospice of Michigan and provides critical information that Hospice staff can use to address a patient’s most pressing financial questions immediately. The MACPA is one of 24 organizations to be named to the 2006 Honor Roll, of the 100 organizations that submitted an entry for the second round of the competition.

Now in its 16th year, the prestigious Associations Advance America Awards program recognizes associations that propel America forward with innovative projects. Although association activities have a powerful impact on everyday life, they often go unnoticed by the general public.

“The MACPA’s program truly embodies the spirit of the Associations Advance America campaign,” said Associations Advance America Committee Chair Bill Bergman, CAE, president of William S. Bergmann Associates. “It is an honor and an inspiration to showcase this activity as an example of the many contributions associations are making to advance American society,”

The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants is a diversified, professional, member-driven organization serving more than 16,000 CPAs and affiliated professionals throughout Michigan. Visit MACPA’s web site at www.michcpa.org.
