People to People Ambassador Programs provide foreign educational travel experiences for professionals. Through meetings, seminars and various cultural activities, participants connect with people in similar professions overseas. In November 2007 (5th - 15th), the Honorable Judith R. Trepeck, CPA, will lead a delegation of up to 25 women professionals specializing in accounting on a fabulous trip to South Africa.
As a Volunteer, What Will I Do?
Over the ten days, the delegation will meet with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), government officials, business owners, their CFOs and their staff, and public accounting practitioners. Participants will gain firsthand knowledge about business practices, business opportunities, partnership models and South African cultural norms to take back and share with colleagues.
Do I Qualify to Participate?
All female members of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants qualify to participate. Judge Trepeck encourages all MACPA-member women to consider joining the delegation.
What is the Time Commitment of a Delegate?
The delegation will depart from JFK International Airport on Monday, November 5, 2007. The group will return to New York on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Please review a tentative itinerary of the program.

What is the Cost for Delegates

What's in it for Me and My Company
The trip will open opportunities for women in public practice, industry, government and education. The meetings with SAICA and women members of the accounting profession will not only enhance knowledge of international accounting, but create networking opportunities that could lead to international collaboration. That same networking opportunity is there for industry members through greater understanding of business in South Africa and the chance to discuss partnerships for international commerce. Government and academia colleagues will gain first hand information that allows for a greater understanding of possibilities for our own environments .
