Registering for CPE
Searching
The Keyword(s) or Course Code field is designed to allow searches containing either an event's unique course code or keywords from its title or description. When entering Course Codes be sure to format them correctly for maxium search effeciency. All express codes contain a 3-7 character code that uniquely identifies that event.
In some past publications the express code might have also contained a dash followed by a 2 digit year. These characters are not necessary and may cause more than the intended course to appear in the search results. Examples:

The location drop-down field only lists cities where the MACPA currently is holding an event. Some courses may not be available online until a few months prior.
Registering
Clicking the Add to Cart button will place an event in your shopping cart. Note that you will be prompted to login if you have not already done so. (The site requires all MACPA members and non-members to login to the site prior to any purchases. If you have never logged into the new site, you will be prompted to verify and update your account first. Once complete you can return to your shopping cart by clicking the Shopping Cart link in the top right of any page in the site.)
From the shopping cart page you can pay, continue shopping for other MACPA events and products; register other individuals from your organization or check out. To add registrants from your firm simply click the gray Modify Registrants that appears on the page. You will see a list of all employees at your company who are on record with the MACPA. Checking the box next to their name and clicking UPDATE CART will add them to the list of attendees for that event. If you don't see an employee on this list you can click the Add to Your List link at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, you may use the My Company Roster link under My Membership to update your company roster at any time.
Shopping Cart
Step 1 of 4 - Clicking the CHECKOUT button will launch the the final process to collect information about your needs and accept payment. Step 1 requires that you let us know how you heard about our courses; choose any special needs for yourself or other participants you registered; and enter any coupons or promotional codes you may have recieved.
Step 2 of 4 - Members can choose to pay by either Credit Card or the Bill Me option. If you select the Bill Me option the MACPA will bill you for your purchases at a later date. This option will not be available if any non-CPE purchases are in your cart. Non-members may only choose Credit Card as a method of payment.
Step 3 of 4 - If you chose bill me on step 2 you will be presented with a confirmation screen. If you choose to pay by credit card, you will be prompted to enter your billing information including the CVV2 code. Select PLACE ORDER to immediately enter your registration into the system. A confirmation for your purchasewill be sent via e-mail. If you registered additional people from your company, they will receive a confirmation for just the events they were registered for.
Step 4 of 4 - The final screen will give you confirmation that your order was placed. You may print this page for your records.
Finding a CVV2 Code on Your Credit Card
Visa, MasterCard & Discover
The CVV2 code is 3 digits printed on Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards in the signature panel on the back of the card. It is the last 3 digits AFTER the credit card account number. Sometimes only the last 4 digits of your credit card number will be printed before the CVV2 code instead of the entire credit card number.
American Express Card
The American Express verification number is a small 4-digit number printed on the front of your card on the right hand side.
PAC/PEF Contributions
PAC Contributions
State election laws do not allow the acceptance of corporate contributions to Political Action Committees. Please use your PERSONAL credit card to make a contribution.
PEF Contributions
The Political Education Foundation is available for corporate contributions and you may use a BUSINESS credit card.
Capitol Club
The MACPA Capitol Club is available for both PAC and PEF contributions. To join, click the image that corresponds to the level at which you wish to contribute. The correct contribution amount will appear below. Capitol Club level contributers are recognized twice per month, at which point a pin will be mailed to your preferred address.
Cancelling a Course
The MACPA allows cancellations, transfers and substitutions as follows:
Cancellations
Cancellations received at least five (5) business days prior to the program date will be eligible for full refund or credit.
Cancellations received less than five (5) business days prior to the program date are subject to the following fees:
- $40 service charge on 8-hour and longer courses
- $20 service charge on half day events
- $10 service charge on 2-hour events
- $5 service charge on 1-hour events
Credit balance(s) maintained with the MACPA as a result of cancellations, that are not used within one (1) year of the cancellation date, will be considered forfeited.
Cancellations will not be accepted on or after the program date.
Returned program materials (if applicable) must be received by the MACPA within ten (10) days of the event to receive the refund or credit.
Transfers
If you wish to transfer your registration fee to another event, please contact the MACPA as soon as possible. The Association staff will assist you in finding an alternative program to meet your needs.
Substitutions
Attendee substitutions are allowed. If possible, contact the MACPA prior to the event, so proper information can be provided.
