Membership Categories and Rates

Below are the MACPA's member dues rates for the period of July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009


Members

Fellow Member – Holder of a Michigan CPA Certificate and a resident of Michigan.

  • Certified less than 5 years - $170
  • Certified 5 years or more - $225
  • Licensed status is “Registered Only” - $180

Associate Member

Holder of a Michigan CPA Certificate but not a resident of Michigan or holder of a CPA certificate issued by another state, regardless of residency
  • Resident – Member living in Michigan who holds a CPA certificate from any other state - $145
  • Non-Resident – Member not living in Michigan who holds a CPA certificate from any state - $105

Affiliate Members

Student – Student attending an accredited college or university - $20*

CPA Candidate – College accounting graduate who is preparing for or who has passed the CPA exam but is not yet certified - $55

College Educator – Educator at an accredited Michigan college or university whose primary income is not derived from public accounting. This professional may be a CPA - $100*

High School Educator/Counselor – High School accounting teacher, business teacher or counselor whose primary income is not derived from public accounting. This professional may be a CPA - $30*

Firm Administration – A non-CPA professional in firm administration employed at a public accounting firm - $75

Non-CPA Affiliate – Non-CPA owners of a CPA firm; billable professionals employed by a CPA firm; foreign licensees employed by a CPA firm - $225

Professional Affiliate – A non-CPA professional with a bachelor’s degree employed in internal accounting (or related department) of a public, private, nonprofit company, government agency or educational institution. May be at a CPA firm as a non-billable professional. Applicant must be sponsored by a current member in good standing and abide by the Code of Professional Conduct- $180

Leave of Absence – Fellow or Associate Members who have been a member in good standing for at least one year immediately preceding request.  Member is not engaged in more than 500 hours per year in the practice of public accounting or other employment. The member anticipates returning to their primary profession.  Special Application Required. - $50

Retired – Fellow or Associate Member who has been a member in good standing for at least one year immediately preceding request.  Member is not engaged in full-time practice of public accounting or other full-time employment.  Member is permanently retired from primary profession or is totally disabled. Special Application required.  - $50

Life – Fellow or Associate Members who have attained thirty-five consecutive years of Membership in good standing. The member is not engaged in full-time practice of public accounting or other full-time employment and is substantially retired defined as less than 500 hours per year. Special Application required. - $0

*May be waived if member actively participates in the Association. See Membership Staff for details.  Application fee must accompany application.  One-time application fee is $50.  CPA Candidate application fee is $30.  Student application fee is $20.
