MACPA Task Forces

What is the Role of the Task Force?

As an association, the MACPA is given direction and purpose by its Board of Directors and Task Forces. Although the MACPA has a staff of more than 40 employees, the Board and the Task Forces provide the vision for the Association and guide the staff to administer that vision.

Participation on a Task Force allows you to share your thoughts for the present and future activities of the Association, including community involvement, government relations, membership events and more. Task Force membership also fosters personal and professional growth while allowing you to network with other CPAs and consultants in a specific area of expertise.

As a Task Force member, what will I do?

Each task force has a unique purpose and goal. Your contribution will depend upon the task force or task forces of which you are a member. Typical activity includes actively participating in planning meetings and providing expert input on various topics.

In addition, task force members commit to:

  • Knowledge of the area to be addressed by the task force,
  • Collaborative mindset,
  • Interest in professional networking and learning,
  • Provision of current, relevant information resources to enhance the task force experience and outcomes,
  • Continued outreach, i.e. to take information outside the practicing profession and bring information inside the profession, e.g. new speakers, new resources and new services and applications,
  • "On-site" resource as a volunteer to Association activities, and
  • Having and using e-mail.

Do I qualify to be a Task Force member?

The MACPA encourages both practicing CPAs and members in industry, government and education to become active on committees/task forces. There are non-practicing CPAs serving on almost every committee/task force who recognize professional and personal value for service.
